Premium Organic Garden Mix
Premium Organic Garden Mix is one of the best soils for garden beds. It is a perfect blend of nutrients that any garden needs, our version, in particular, contains Loam, Washed Ash and a combination of Chicken and Cow Manure. Using our garden mix will help any plants without special requirements (like native plants) grow and provide them with enough food to develop strong roots. We recommend this soil for vegetable gardens and general garden bedding as it does cover most plants.
Using Loam as a base our Garden Mix has a high drainage rate which helps any water filter down into the deeper roots which are especially important for vegetables.
Veggie Mix
This is the step up from the basic Premium Organic Garden Mix. With more drainage and manures mixed through this soil, it becomes a vegetable and other garden superfood. This type of garden soil is perfect for topping up an existing bed or even using it as a base to give your plants a head start in life. With the extra drainage using organic bark matter and extra sand, your garden beds will not be waterlogged and your plant’s roots can grow even deeper.
Native Mix
Our native mix is specially blended to suit Australian Native plants. It is an organic mixture that contains a low phosphorus fertiliser, and great drainage properties. Our Native Mix is a blend of Soil, sand, and bark fines. This specific soil is also great for azaleas and camellias.
Top Dress
Our Top Soil is a 30% screened organic soil and 70% fine washed river sand mixture, this will allow the mixture to penetrate the layer of turf and settle beneath it. This product is great for existing lawns that have dips, or holes as it sinks into the problem areas and evens out lumpy yards. Depending on your lawn, however, we will blend to any formula you wish. Just ask one of our staff who will be happy to assist.
Special Blend Top Dress
Special Blend Top Dress is our most popular top dressing mix having been made with screened Sandy Loam, Saw Dust and Chicken Manure, creating a light clean texture making it easy to spread. This is a great allrounder product that will suit the most popular lawns and you will see the difference under 5 days.
Turf Underlay
As the name suggest turf underlay is primarily used as a base soil for turf. It is made up of mainly soil with a touch of sand for drainage. Turf Underlay is also suitable for filling in holes but in its current form there is not much nutrients in the mixture so it is not recommended for garden beds unless you are building it up and topping the garden bed with rich Garden Mix soil.
This soil is not suitable for on top of you grass as it will smoother the blades and end up doing more damage than good. Strictly us it underneath the lawn for the best results.
Special Blend Turf Underlay
Like the basic version Turf Underlay, Special Blend Turf Underlay is a Down to Earth Special combination of Turf Underlay, Washed Ash and Chicken Manure to give any type of grass like Sir Walter Buffalo or Ky a kick start to grow. This blend is high in organic matter which will provide your lawn with the needed food to help its early stages of growth.
BE AWARE this should only be used as an underlay, under your lawn as putting this mixture on top of your grass will kill it, the high pH levels are too much for the blades and will burn them.
Planter Box Mix
A very open mix of Composted Bark Fines and Coarse Sand, made for use in the nursery industry. Ideal for plants that don’t like being too wet.
Regular application of a liquid fertilizer (eg Fish Emulsion) as well as the use of slow release pellets will ensure the plants will thrive.
Washed Ash
Our Washed Ash is perfect product to mix into existing soil that needs a boost. It is light weight screened volcanic matter that can be used in most gardens. As this product does significantly change the pH of the soil please see one of our friendly staff to see if it is right for you and your project.
Humus Mix
Just what the doctor ordered ! A rich blend of Mushroom Compost, Manures, Washed Ash, Composted Sawdust, Peat and Composted Bark Fines that can be used with poor soils to increase the level of organic matter and nutrient levels. Don’t use as a growing medium on its own (better to use Premium Organic Mix). Ideal for rejuvenating old garden beds.
Botany Humus Mix
Botany Humus Mix is a stable mix of manures, peat, compost bark and mushroom compost with the addition of Mineral Sands for heavier soils so it leaves it more friable. This is perfect for gardens or areas that are made up of clay.
Cow Manure
Dark black and soil like in appearance, Cow Manure is an excellent source of major nutrients and trace elements with a pH of 7.5. Add Cow Manure to any soil to give your plant life a solid source of nutrients. We add Cow Manure to most of our garden and soil mixes.
Chicken Manure
Aged Chicken manure in a sawdust carrier. This is the all-rounder of manures, you can put it on your lawns to help it grow or mix Chicken Manure into Garden beds to feed your plants. It doesnt smell as much as Cow Manure but it does a similar job. With the added sawdust it is easy to manage and adds a drainage component which Cow Manure does not do.
